My Love For You

Hi friends and happy Sunday afternoon to you. It's a beautiful day here in Southern Oregon..so nice to see the sunshine. It's still very brisk out there though. I'm stopping in to share a card I made for this week's Dynamic Duos. This week we were given the colors of black and hot pink.

Here is my card:

I cut a piece of printer paper 1 inch wide and used it for a mask. I stamped the hearts along the edges trying to get as sold of a line as I could. You can't see it in the photo, but I added an embossed line at the top and bottom of the open space.

This week's colors:

I hope you have a wonderful day.

Blessings,
Deanna Jean

Happy Saturday friends. I'm stopping in with a card I made for this week's ColourQ. The colors this week are amazing..no surprise there. Arielle does have a way of picking great ones.

Here is my card:

I kept my card really simple. I wanted the flowers to be my focal point. I love the dark brown for the center of these flowers. So pretty.

Fusion #2

Hi friends. This is my second post for today. Be sure to scroll down and check out my card for this week's Card Concept challenge.

The new Fusion challenge sure is off to a great start. Last week's inspiration photo was amazing and this week's is no different.

I tried for some Fusion but I just couldn't get this week's sketch to work for what I had in mind. For my card I stamped the flower on the right directly onto my card. The second flower was stamped on a separate piece of paper and fussy cut. I added the yellow with a Copic marker..love how it turned out. I attached the second flower with my dots for a touch of dimension. I orginally wasn't going to add any of the dots. Well I left a smudge of black ink just above the flower on the right...yep the large yellow dot it now covering up my mess :) I actually think it looks better with them. So I guess my smudge was just ment to be.

The challenge:
As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Deanna Jean

The Card Concept #2

Wow..what an amazing first challege we had at The Card Concept. Talk about some beautiful creations..you guys rocked it!! Thank you all so much for showing your support.

Week two is all about texture. I'll admit it now....I am so bad about adding texture to my cards. I have a bunch of impression plates but I never think to use them. So I pulled out my box and put it out where I can see them. Maybe this will encourage me to use them more :)

Here is my card:

Trust me I really did add texture to my card. I could not for the life of me get it to show up in my picture. I used the linen and canvas impression plate from PTI. It's a very suttle texture and I love it..but it doesn't photograph well. So you'll just have to trust me on this one :)

I really liked the colors in this week's photo so I wanted to incorporate them into my card. The white frame of the door really caught my eye. To get this look on my card I went with the large love die as my base to work off of. From there I added my flowers and the sentiment up the side. To get some more depth from the flowers I added a touch of color with a Copic marker.

This week's challenge:

Quick & Easy

Hello stampers. I thought I would stop in with a really quick post to share a card I made a few days ago.

How simply and cute is this? I love using this grass stamp. It makes a perfect line for my sentiment to go below it. The flower was stamped and the fussy cut and attached with my dots. Quick and easy.

I stamped this beautiful image onto a piece of cream card stock and added some color using my Copic markers. I didn't want to take away from the image so I stamped the sentiment up the side of the card and then I attached the cream card stock to my card base with foam tape.

Bottom Of My Heart

Hi everyone. I thought I would stop in and share a card I made a couple of weeks ago.

Nicole over at Papertrey Ink shared a card during last months release using these hearts, and I loved how she left the space for the sentiment and wanted to give it a try. I used a color combo from a past ColourQ challenge...#199 to be exact. I created a file on my computer and I save all of the color and sketch challenge logos in it. I have one for colors and one for sketches. I use this file ALL the time.

After I had the hearts done I went hunting for a sentiment and this one not only fits in the blank space, but the words are perfect...love when that happens.

Thanks for stopping by. Oh...be sure to stop by tomorrow for my first post for the new Card Concept challenge.

Blessings,
Deanna Jean

Fusion Is Back

I was so sad when I heard that the Fusion challenge was going to be cancelled. But that didn't last for long..they are back and this week is their first challenge. I was part of the original design team so this challenge holds a special place in my heart. The graphic might be different but the theme is the same.

Here is my card:

For my card I decided to go with just the inspiration from the photo. Are these colors beautiful together or what?  This is another one of those color combos that I would have never thought to put together. I pulled from the pattern in the pillows and the wall color for my embossing and the beautiful color from the headboard and pillows for my flowers. I added a little color to my roses with a Copic marker. I attached the white panel with foam tape and the flowers with my dots.

The challenge:

Thanks for stopping by.

Deanna Jean

Add A Little Color

Happy Sunday! I'm stopping in with a card I made for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge. The theme this week is:

Instead of a resolution, choose a word that describes what you hope for the new year.
maybe it's LOVE if you want to work on your relationships, or DO if you want to challenge yourself to something, or LAUGH if you want to lighten up, etc.
Use that word as the inspiration for your card, and keep it Clean And Simple
Here is my card:

I'll start by saying sorry the photo is so bad. I had a really hard time getting the embossed tree to show up.

Add A Little Color To Every Day..that is what I want to do more of this year. Weather it be in my card making or whatever else I may be doing.

The challenge:

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Blessings,
Deanna Jean
