Freshly Made Sketches #54

Hello again! Wow, two posts in one day. I don't think I've ever done that. Be sure to scroll down to see my earlier post. I had a great day crafting yesterday. My mojo was is full force and I took advantage of it. I actually made 11 cards yesterday. Some of them were one layer and I just changed up the colors...but I'm going to count them anyways:)

This card is for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I love how just by changing the colors with this stamp set that you get a totally different feel. I wanted a Fall card so I went with earth tones. I used Papertrey Ink's new color Limeade Ice on the leaves...love this color!

Dynamic Duos & Merry Monday

Good morning. Here is a card I made for this weeks Dynamic Duos and Merry Monday challenges. This is the first time I've played along at Merry Monday. I love the idea of making Christmas cards all year. I send out a lot of Christmas cards and I'm always rushing at the last minute to get them all done.

I have to say it was a little weird making a Christmas card in September. But I can now say I have one done...and a lot more to go.

See you soon,

Hello Friend

Happy Friday! I hope all of you are enjoying your day. I'm stopping in with a little card I made a couple of weeks ago.

I love this stamp from DeNami. It's big enough that you don't need to use anything else with it. Think of all the pretty colors you could do the flowers.

I stamped the three flowers on a separate piece of cardstock and colored them with Copics. I cut then out and attached them to the card using my dots.

Thanks for taking the time to stop in,

Deanna Jean

Supplies:
Stamps: Large Flower Spray and Hello Friend

DeNami Product Spotlight Friendly Mummy

It's product spotlight time over at DeNami. October is right around the corner and that means Halloween will be here before we know it. So it's only fitting that we have this super cute Friendly Mummy to share with you today.

Is he cute or what? I didn't have a round stamp big enough for my moon. I used one of my Spellbinder dies and cut out a piece of fun foam. Using some tape I attached that to one of my clear blocks. Instant stamp :)

Friendly Mummy is the perfect addition to your stamp collection. He is 10% of this week only. Be sure to stop by DeNami and check out what the rest of the design team has created. There is some major cuteness going on over there.

Have a wonderful day,

You Are A Blessing

It's Sunday evening and the weekend is coming to an end.  We had a nice relaxing weekend at home and I was able to spend some time creating. Here is a card I made for this weeks Retrosketches and Cas-ual Fridays challenges.

I'll start off my apologizing for the quality of my photo. My husband is re-building his computer, and he has the spot where I set up my photo tent full of parts. I had to go on the hunt for place to take my picture.

I just love this tree. It just looks happy to me :) After I did the tree and the pumpkins the card looked like it was missing something. So I added little grass using my Copics. I think it's pretty cute myself.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a blessed week,

Deanna Jean

Happy Birthday Blog Hop for Nami

In honor of Nami's birthday we are having a little blog hop. What a fun way to celebrate such a special day. If you are following along on the hop you should have just come from Stacy's blog. If you want to start at the beginning you can go to DeNami.

Here is my birthday card for Nami.

I stared by stamping the flowers several times across my paper. I added some color using Copic markers. After I stamped my sentiment I added the frame around the edge. I like how the frame pulls everything together.

You all know how much I love to add dimension to my cards. I stamped the flowers a second time on a separate piece of paper and colored them. I cut out the flowers and attached them to every other flower with my dots.

Thanks for stopping by. Your next stop along the hop is Barb's. Enjoy the rest of the hop.

Happy Birthday Nami! I hope you have a blessed day.

ColourQ #155

It's time for a new ColourQ challenge. This week's colors are so pretty. I tried a new technique the other day. I've seen several others doing it and thought I would give it a try. I used my inks to do watercolors.

To help keep my different colors separate, I used a piece of scrap paper and layed it over the previous color. After it was good and dry I stamped my image and sentimate. I attached my watercolor piece to white and then attached that to my card base with foam tape.

 Here are this weeks colors.

I hope you can join us. Remember to head over to the ColourQ and see what the rest of the amazing design team has created.

See you soon,

Retrosketches #29

It's been awhile since I had the time to play along with a challenge. I found a few extra minutes over the weekend. I loved the sketch over at Retrosketches so that's what I went with. You just can't go wrong when it's a sketch based off of one of Laurie's cards.

We've had some very brisk mornings and it's starting to feel like fall here. I love the beautiful colors that come with the season and wanted to created a card that reflected that.

I stared by cutting the squares using my die. To make sure my leaves were in the proper place I lightly traced the squares onto my cream cardstock. To get the various colors on my leaves, I started by inking them with Simply Chartreuse. Then I gently tapped the edges with Terracotta Tile and Summer Sunshine. When I was done stamping I erased my tracing lines. So easy and such a beautiful effect.  The acorns were done with Simply Chartreuse and Ripe Avocado.

I attached everything using my dots for a touch of dimension.

Here is this week's sketch.

Happy Birthday

A couple of weeks ago one of my co-workers ordered a birthday card for her granddaughter's 8th birthday. She wanted her name on it and the colors to be pink and purple...her granddaughter's favorite colors.

Here is what I came up with.

I didn't have any stampes small enough to do her name, so I created the sentiment on my computer.  I got the idea for the flowers from this amazing card by Arielle. I think it turned out so cute.

DeNami Product Spotlight

It's product spotlight time over at DeNami.  For today's spotlight we have this supper fun Fuzzy Ball stamp for you.

Here is my card.

To create my cute little critters I selective stamped just the legs on the Chickie Long Legs stamp. I started at the bottom of my card and did the first set of leg. Then I stamped the Fuzzy Ball on top of the legs. I did this until I had all three. I colored the Fuzzy Balls with Copic markers. For the antennas I used the stems from the Garden Flower Set. Again I did some selective inking. This time I only inked up the outer two stems. I stamped the faces using the Animal Faces set. I didn't have a stamp the right size for the balls on the ends of the antennas so I used a pencil eraser. I finished it off with the cling Happy Birthday. I mounted my white on black and then Iridescent Emeral Green cardstock. I just love how this turned out..so cute!

Remember this stamp is 10% off for one week only. Go add it to your cart!

Be sure to stop by DeNami  and see what the rest of the design team has created. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for stopping by,

ColourQ 154

Happy Tuesday! It's time for this week's ColourQ and I just have to say, I really had fun with these colors. I would have never put these colors together. When I sat down to work on my card it took me awhile to decide what direction I wanted to go. Then all of a sudden the ideas just started to flow...love when that happens.

Here is my card.

When I first started on my card I was going to put more rose clusters then this. After I got these three stamped I liked how it looked so I stopped. To help pull it all together I added the hand drawn frame.

 Here are this week's colors.
I hope you will join us this week. If you're looking for some inspiration, be sure to stop by the ColourQ and see what the rest of the design team has created.

Back To School

Welcome to this month's DeNami blog hop. If you are following along you should have arrived here from Stacy's blog. If not, and you want to start at the beginning you can go to DeNami.

The theme this month is back to school.

To create my lines I used the solid and dash stamps from Basic Borders 1. I inked up the two outside lines on the solid stamp. Then I inked up only one line on the dash stamp and lined it up between the two solid lines. I tried to paper piece the apple and I didn't like the way it looked. So I went with a rainbow of bright colors instead.

Your next stop is Rochelle. Have fun and thanks for stopping by.

When: The blog hop starts on September 9th at 6 AM, PST. However, you have until September 10, 2012, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).

A Simple Congratulations

I'm stopping in with an elegant, but very easy card. This beautiful bouquet stamp from DeNami is so versatile. Here is a wedding card I made.

For this card all I did was stamp it with black ink. The ink does take a little longer to dry on the iridescent paper. After it was good and dry I stamped the sentiment. I added a piece of charcoal paper to the bottom to finish it off.

See you soon,

Deanna Jean

ColourQ 153

Can you believe it's September already? Today is the first day of school for K-12. My daughter is a Jr. in college this year, so she has a few more weeks before she has to hit the books again. Now that she's working on her bachelors degree, she will have to drive to the university that's about an hour drive. We were able to work her schedule so she only has to do it twice a week. Thank goodness with the price of gas these days..ouch.

Okay, on to this weeks ColourQ challenge. Here is my card.

I stamped the leaves so they were at the edge of my cardstock. I used a ruler and my knife to cut the straight edge. Then I fussy cut around the leaves.
I attached the flower with my dots and the card front with foam tape.

This weeks colors.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you can find the time to join us this week. Be sure to stop by the ColourQ and see what the rest of the design team has created.

Anything Goes! DeNami Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at DeNami. This time it's Anything Goes! Oh the possibilities...:) I decided to ink up my Whimsical Flowers set. I was playing around and found that these adorable little flowers work great with my hexagon die.

When attaching the stamped hexagons I made sure I didn't have two of the same flowers next to each other. You can't really see it in this pictures, but the hexagons with the solid red flowers are bumped up.

I hope you can join us for this fun challenge. Be sure to stop by DeNami to see what the rest of the design team has created. There are prizes to be won! You can also find all of the challenge details at the DeNami Blog.
